NASAA Board is made up of five Directors

The board is collectively responsible for promoting the success of the Company by directing and supervising the Company's affairs.

  • ensures that the necessary financial and human resources are in place for the Company to meet its objectives

  • ensures that its obligations to its stakeholders and others are understood and met.

Glenn Schaube


Glenn is the founder and director of GRS Communications, a boutique public relations and marketing communications agency operating from Melbourne since 2002.
Glenn has 30 years experience in his area of expertise working with commercial and not-for-profit organisations at the local community, state, federal and international levels. This is enhanced by his involvement in agribusiness, resource management and environment sectors which includes Pivot, AWB, GMW and GWMW.
Glenn holds a BA Management Communications, Deakin University, with majors in Economics, Public Relations and Communications and a minor in Politics. He also completed a Certificate of Horticulture, Burnley Horticultural College, and worked in horticulture for several years. Glenn served on the Executive Committee for ORGAA (Organic Retailers and Growers Association Australia) prior to the merge into NASAA.
Glenn has served on the NASAA and NCO boards since 2013.

Phil Rowe

Deputy Chair

Phil has developed a small but diverse mixed horticulture family business in West Gippsland, Victoria, since 1980, based on permaculture principles, specialising in fresh Rubus berries and on-farm processing, and with Organic Certification since 1988. Phil also has longstanding active participation in the development of organic agriculture certification Standards, serving as NASAA’s Certification Review Committee Chair for 14 years, and on the Board of NASAA and NCO.
Phil is President of the peak industry body, Raspberries and Blackberries Australia Inc., having been a founding Committee member since its establishment in 1983. He has been engaged with variety development, international variety licensing and commercialisation, and industry biosecurity planning.
Prior to farming, Phil undertook soil microbiological survey research for several years after the completion of a Bachelor of Science.

Jan Denham


Jan has had a long involvement with NASAA having served on the NASAA Board from 1995 to 2005, 3 years as Treasurer then 7 years as Chair. In that time Jan instigated the change of NASAA from state representation to a member organisation to enable members to have direct input into the direction of NASAA.
Jan returned to the NASAA Board in 2010 and has served as Chair since that time.
Jan brings a wide range of experience to the Board on issues relating to agriculture in general, being actively involved in a range of agricultural industry organisations. She has a commitment to strong corporate governance and believes that this is the keystone of any credible organisation. Jan also brings financial management expertise to the Board.
Jan and her partner operate Karra Organic Farm which has been certified by NASAA/NCO for 26 years.

Laurie Galpin


Laurie Galpin is a positive, energetic person. People matter to Laurie; he takes an interest in what they do, how they run their businesses and their perspective on life. Laurie also has a great interest in agriculture and the country.
Laurie has a rich and varied life experience which enables him to relate to people from many different backgrounds. Taking a practical and commonsense approach to the needs of his clients, he has a natural ability to break down complex matters, identifying and communicating the important issues.
Since establishing the "Galpins" Stirling office in 2002, Laurie has developed a broad local client base, providing support and advice to clients in the areas of horticulture, building and other trades, professionals, farming, information technology and a range of other small business enterprises.
Laurie holds a BA in Accountancy from UniSA, is a Registered Tax Agent and Fellow of the CPA
Having a keen interest in Asian culture, Laurie is a black belt in two traditional forms of karate. He is actively involved in his community and is a familiar sight in the business district of Stirling, where he regularly sees clients and friends on his daily walks.

Judy Goode


Judy is a well-credentialed environmental advocate who brings to NASAA 17 years’ experience in strategic planning, policy development and project management in natural resources management, water resource management and Aboriginal partnership and engagement. Judy has been a key adviser to the SA government and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) on the Murray-Darling Basin Plan, Strategic Programs Review and The Living Murray Initiative. She is an inaugural member of the MDBA Strategic Thinkers Group, which provides strategic and policy advice on implementation of the Basin Plan.

Judy has previously project managed strategy and policy development for the National Environmental Protection Measures on the assessment of site contamination, and ambient air quality standards. Judy has also developed State policy frameworks for SA River Murray salinity management and environmental flows, the use of Aboriginal interpreters and translators in remote and regional communities, Aboriginal partnerships in NRM, levee bank management, and environmental water allocations.

She has chaired and/or served on numerous federal,state, regional and local NRM boards and committees.
